Sublimation
What Is Sublimation Printing?
Sublimation shirt printing is a specialized process where an image is first printed onto a special sheet of paper and then transferred onto a material, usually polyester or a polyester blend. The ink is heated until it disintegrates and fuses into the fabric, creating a design that becomes part of the material itself. While this method is more expensive than other printing techniques, it offers superior durability, ensuring that the design won’t crack or peel over time, making it a worthwhile investment for lasting quality.
Can you sublimate onto anything?
For the best sublimation results, polyester materials are ideal, but it can also be used on items with a specialized polymer coating, such as mugs, mouse pads, and coasters. As sublimation is essentially a dye process, it works best on white or light-colored fabrics. If you’re looking to print on black or darker materials, a digital print solution may be a better option for achieving the desired outcome.
